1st 4 Healthcare has over 20 years of experience in working with people from a range of different backgrounds, with very different needs. We care for the elderly, all generations with disabilities, those diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and dementia, as well as those who have suffered a severe injury or are struggling with their mental health.
There are many reasons why a person might require a live-in or domiciliary carer and so, whatever your level of need, we’ll always help you to live the life you choose.
For younger clients living with a disability, it might mean providing a mobility aid to help them get around so they can begin to live independently. Getting in and out of bed and to university lectures, for example.
Or, for an older client with symptoms of dementia, it might mean a one-to-one carer who can help make sure you are taking their medication and keeping hydrated while continuing to live in familiar surroundings
Our senior leadership team have a combined experience of over 30 years in the industry, making sure that our clients remain at the heart of what we do.
Our team is both caring and compassionate. We take a considerable amount of time to understand you or your loved one’s needs, and understand that live-in care is extremely personal and pivotal in enabling individuals to live as independently as possible.
We understand relationships are a focal part of our business and that’s why we invest considerable time in getting to know all of the people we employ. All of our care staff must undergo a rigorous recruitment process to enable them to meet our high-quality care values. 1st 4 Healthcare carers have background checks, in-depth interviews, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and also go through an intensive one-week residential training and assessment course, followed by compulsory distance learning annually.
Carers have their skills updated yearly, and often undertake update training to enable them to meet the broad needs our clients have. We never make use of agency staff which means we have firm control over the quality of our care delivery.
All of our care staff are employed by us directly and we profile their experience, likes and personality in order to gain a clearer understanding when matching them with our clients. Our carers are also led by a care team of qualified professionals who have dedicated their careers to professionally caring for people.
Our staff at our Lancashire-based head office make sure we have all the procedures in place to work quickly and efficiently on each client’s behalf, including swift set-up periods for new clients.
People focused
We are small enough to keep our family ethos of knowing our clients and carers on a personal level. Every client has a named case manager to talk to about their care, wishes and goals, who is able to visit them at home upon their request. We constantly strive to deliver a high-quality service that reflects our family values. Much of our growth has been through positive word of mouth and recommendations, and we only ever select, recruit, train and employ carers who will look after our clients’ wishes.
Our client experiences
Our team have a wealth of experience delivering live-in care and domiciliary care services to the elderly and disabled. Their commitment and dedication is incomparable and they are passionate about high-quality care at home.
The right to exercise choice and control
At 1st 4 Healthcare, we believe in promoting choice and control in every aspect of our clients’ lives, including over the type of care received. We offer different models of care that offer varying levels of suitability for each client and their care budget. We have also invested heavily in digital technology to enable you to have greater transparency and control over your care, and for loved ones to be kept appraised of changing needs.
